There are various ways to lock and secure zipper bags and pouches. The one thing you want to COMPLETELY understand that it is just a bag made of some type of fabric. Generally its purpose is to keep the "honest people honest" and hopefully deter and keep out unwanted hands and eyes. If someone has the will and time and want to gain unauthorized access - THEY WILL!!! This stands true with any companies bag no matter what fabric it is made from. Determined people have found ways to break into five million dollar high-tech safes. Below are some options you may want to choose from and we ALWAYS urge customers to call us with their concerns and objectives.
Below is list of locking-lockable bags going from most popular to least common. The two most important things to consider is SIZE and who is handling the bags. 85% or more of the people who call us daily say they have the bag picked out that they want. Many customers after speaking to us, totally agree that the bag and locking system we suggest for their operation would serve them much better. We are not suggesting for a second you or anyone does not know what they are doing but the average person is not expected to know all the options available to them when it comes to lockable bags.
A silly but simple thought: Not too many people could call or walk into a doctors office and say I need this type of operation or procedure done and know exactly what they need from self-diagnosis! Hopefully and little more information would be needed.
A simple but NOT silly idea: We just want you to get the correct bag for your operation and use and would like to get it right for YOU the first time!!!!
6DPUC- High Security Locking Bags - By far the most popular bags for thousands of operations. This bag gives you the most security and has the most options regarding key control and locking options. Bags can be made in any size you need and about 17 colors to choose from. Laminated nylon is by far the most popular fabric choosen in these style bags.
DSPDL-1 Locking System - Bag shown here is our TAB/8.This style of locking bag has two, two-way sliders on the zipper chain and is also known as "kissing sliders". Each slider has a loop with a hole molded on it. When you slide the two sliders towards one another the molded loops that are offset alien next to one another, which then gives you one hole as shown above, which you can put a padlock through. The two sliders locked together in turn lock the bag in the closed position. You can also place some type of plastic/nylon/metal tamper proof seal through this loop instead of a padlock. We have this style zipper in both metal and black coil nylon zipper as well. This style zipper can be sewn into most of the bags and pouches we produce.
VBB-HOOD - This style locking system is a very basic and economical system for locking a bag. It was a very popular way of locking bags before the advent of multi-pin higher security locks. It is still an effective and simple way of locking a bag and should be considered where high security is not a big concern. To lock the bag you close the zipper and rotate the movable metal hood up. There is a slot on the backside of the hood where the pull/tongue goes through. You then place a padlock or tamper resistant security seal through the pull/tongue and this locks the bag. It is commonly used for transporting things like papers and documents but is certainly not limited to that. We can incorporate this "hooded" system in many bags we produce. It is most commonly used in our series of vinyl bags because of economy. Please inquire with yours needs.
PDL-1 - This style of locking bag uses an external padlock for locking the bag. It is simplistic yet very effective. When you close the bag the pull/zipper tongue has a small metal tooth that goes between the teeth on the zipper chain. When you place the padlock through the metal loop on the slider body it locks the pull down which keeps the metal tooth in between the zipper teeth locking the bag. This style locking system is not recommended where multiple people will be locking the bag. If works very well but if someone is not familiar with how the "locking tooth" must align between the zipper teeth and try to force it down they can bend or break this tooth.
GMT - Bag shown above is out TAB/18. This style of locking system is basic yet very effective. We install a brass grommet just under the edge of the zipper chain on the end of the bag that closes. When the bag is zipped close you place a padlock through this grommet and the shackle of the padlock goes over the top edge of the zipper chain. Because of the unique placement on the grommet the shackle is just behind the slider body and DOES NOT allow the zipper to be opened by blocking/stopping the slider from moving backwards. This bag also allows you to place any type of plastic or wire safety seal/strap through the loop, which would also prevent the bag from being opened if that is what you prefer to use instead of a padlock. This bags is generally used for heavy loads like coin.
